Every day we have a choice of how to live it.
Yesterday a close friend of mine passed away. I loved her deeply. She sadly spent the last few years of her life dying rather than living. She allowed all the bad things that ever happened to her to eat away at her until they finally turned into a cancer and took her life. Many of us have had bad things happen to us, but how we deal with them determines if we survive or become victims and that’s the choice we make.
Even when ba…d things happen, we have to find a way to survive them. We have to find a way to forgive if only to let them go. We have to understand that this world is full of many hurt people who go on to hurt others. Some don’t care. Some hurt intentionally and some hurt accidently. Either way, if we hang on to those hurts we give them the power to destroy our current lives. And if we hang on to too many we make ourselves very ill.
If we live our lives today, being grateful for whatever we have today, and being present in appreciating what we have today, we create our future happiness and our health, both mentally and physically. We can’t change what happened yesterday, but we have to do our best to create the live mindfully today doing the best we can, appreciating all we can and enjoying all we can, because truly, all we really have is now.
Today and how you live it, creates your tomorrow.
