I started this post to reach out to others who struggle with day to day mental health issues. Only about half of us on this earth are lucky enough to be born to parents who want us, love us, and know how to take care of us. There are an awful lot of us struggling in silence in heal the hurts and injuries. Often we seek to find healing in our relationships with others, and we often find ourselves attracted to others who are also flawed. These relationships often cause further injury because two broken people don’t form a healthy soul. Sometimes we choose drugs or alcohol to numb the pain we feel, causing further problems. And some people just give up.
The way to heal is to work on healing our own injuries, take responsibility for our actions and love ourselves better. Then we can choose better partners and friends who we can genuinely feel safe with and feel cared for, and have healthy relationships. It happens a day at a time, focusing on our present, and finding a way to let go of the past. Our todays lived healthily create a happier future. My goal is to help others accomplish this.
I have published my first book “True Love; Breaking the Cycle of Failed Relationships” which is available on Amazon, to help those involved in unhealthy romantic relationships. I am working on a second book aimed towards Suicide Prevention. My first job in mental health was working on a Suicide Prevention hotline, because I was lucky enough to survive my attempt in my teens. My goal on this planet is to help as many people as I am able to, and to share the things that have helped me.
